Recon Class 4N63L by dark-maggot Recon Class 4N63L by dark-maggot
Been having a good few weeks, artwork wise.

This is 4N63L a recon class cyborg from the end of the 21st century. She is more of a medium range recon using her modified SMG instead of a sniper rifle thanks to her enhanced eyesight and speed.

I might do some more classes this was really fun.

i quite like the design here, especially those camo cargo pants-like.. pants. color scheme is pleasant for the eye overall, lots of details, splendid anatomy.. i especially like that she looks actually pretty well armored, for a girl, you know.
the only thing that doesn't fit are those high heels, they look sorta unpractical in comparison with the rest of the gear.
but apart form that, really nice job

Technically sniping typically happens at 500+ yards/meters by most definitions, a KRISS probably goes into falloff distances (bullet drops faster than it goes forward) at around 125-150 yards with .45 ACP, which is more short range. Of course, in a densely urban environment where shots longer than that are hard to line up, a silenced (special ammo and sound suppressor) gun wielded by a highly mobile soldier could do the trick for a scout.

Well given that she is a cyborg her skills to determine the exact drop distance and angles to land a perfect shot with any gun are well believable for that specific reason.

Not a gun nut here, so my knowledge is limited. I bound myself on things I see as a posibility and go from there.

Thanks for the comment.

There are more factors than just drop, but that's getting far more technical than necessary. A 5.56 NATO or 6.5 Grendel assault rifle would serve better for medium range scouting instead of close range, but there's definitely something to be said for the fact that the KRISS is really freaking sweet.

Technical specifics gun-nuttery aside, it's a very well done picture

lol As I said I am not a gun expert plus I am just getting into designing weapons more but yeah I need to do way more research than what I do for sure.

Thanks again.

...he did say it was a modified SMG, after all.

and besides, she is a cyborg,
which means, she could easily
compensate for the ballistics of the weapon.

Modified smg is still an smg, if you tried to make it shoot something that was actually capable of mid to long range, it would explode from the overpressure, unless you completely redesigned it from the ground up at which point it would not be an SMG.

While it would be possible to get it roughly on target with enough processing, it's unnecessary complication to a problem easily solved by a weapon one power class (intermediate) higher, depending on the cartridge. 5.56 NATO can technically be used on things 800 yards away, although it runs out of usefulness at about 500-600. Also, trying to hit anything in falloff distance means the exact point of landing is kind of random due to variables in flight.
